John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle from WWE’s Taboo Tuesday 2005

Recap from TJ Hawke:

2005 Kurt Angle is one of my favorite wrestlers ever. He’s so on point with everything he does. 2005 Shawn Michaels was no slouch himself. 2005 John Cena? Eh.

They immediately start with the “two men in, one man out” structure. They go into the triple threat spots quickly enough though. There were lots of teases and reversals of finishers. There were also a number of pinning combination nearfalls. HBK and Angle then doubleteamed Cena and sent him to the floor. They then gave him a doubleteam gourdbuster through the Spanish announce table. Angle and HBK battled in the ring.  It was good. At one point, Angle hit a super Drunk Slam: 1…2…NO! Cena came back out of nowhere and made a big comeback. Angle tossed Cena into the crowd. HBK hit Angle with a slingshot somersault plancha. HBK ran through everyone in the ring for a bit. That is until Angle gave him a belly-to-belly suplex OVER the ropes and to the floor. Cena hit Angle with the five knuckle shuffle. Angle avoided the FU and got the DRUNK LOCK!!! ANGLE GOT IT GRAPEVINED!!! HBK broke it up with a Hail to the King. Angle then ate a superkick, and Cena gave HBK a FU: 1…2…3!!!

What a fucking match. It ruled so hard! Watch it now! This is all of the analysis that you’re getting.
