Randy Orton vs. Goldust from WWE’s Raw TV 2013

Goldust was booked to face Orton after Cody got fired by HHH the week before. This angle sounds fun, and I always like it when the WWE books part-time wrestlers for interesting programs.

Goldust got “You still got it!” chants for throwing punches and kicks. Orton briefly cut Goldust off, but Goldust got the advantage back when they started brawling on the floor. Back in the ring, Orton got control of the match with a chinlock. After a while, Goldust managed to hit a bulldog. His face paint was practically non-existent by this point. Goldust made a big comeback. Orton came back with the elevated DDT. Orton went for the RKO, but Goldust reversed it into a Cross Rhodes: 1…2…NO! Great nearfall. Orton got a nearfall with a schoolboy. Orton then popped up and hit a RKO: 1…2…3!

Backstage, Stephanie McMahon trolled a crying Goldust. It was amusing.

This was pretty darn good, as one would expect. Dustin Rhodes is a good worker, and this angle gives people a reason to care about him. Thumbs up.
