Bryan Danielson vs. AJ Styles from IWA Mid-South’s An IWA Homecoming 2004

Recap from TJ Hawke:

Styles got control after a pescado. He went after Dragon’s left arm. Dragon came back after a German. Dragon was in control for a long time. Styles eventually came back after reversing a super back suplex into a crossbody. He got a few nearfalls. Dragon came back with the super back suplex. They did a double discus strike spot and both men went down. Styles went for the Clash, but Dragon managed to reverse it into Cattle Mutilation. Styles’ attempt to escape allowed Dragon to leverage him into a pin: 1…2…3n

This was adequate and not a complete waste of time. That makes it one of the weaker Danielson matches that I have ever seen, but it’s not awful or anything. The crowd was dead for the whole thing though, and they went long for no reason. There was some good moments though. Mild recommendation on this one.

Match Rating: **1/2
