Eddie Edwards vs. Timothy Thatcher from Beyond Wrestling 2015
Post by TJ Hawke:
This was a match in the Greatest Rivals Round Robin.
While there are definitely circumstances that I do not wish to watch EEEE in, he has been someone I wished got booked more in higher profile indies. I especially like the idea of him being booked against the likes of Thatcher and Gulak, because EEEE has not faced them a million times, *and* they force EEEE out of his comfort zone as a performer.
They worked a simple story here. Thatcher was generally targeting the left arm of EEEE, and EEEE generally targeted the left leg of Thatcher. I’d prefer that matches based around the targeting/selling of limbs be a bit more focused on that element. The selling was consistent here, but the work targeting the limbs came and went. EEEE’s work ended up paying off, as he was able to win with the heel hook on the injured leg.
I’d have this match on par with the opener. It was worked in a less important manner, but the work on the limbs/selling were done in a more interesting ways. This tourney is off to a good start. (***1/4)
