Sugar Dunkerton vs. Silas Young from Strong Style Wrestling 2015

Recap from Wrestling Addict:

Silas Young entering to “Don’t Stop Believin'” was excellent. But this is Sugar’s house, and the crowd were firmly behind him. (The match starts around 8 minutes in.)

The match starts with some fine technical wrestling. It moves into Silas controlling most of its mid-section, with Sugar getting a few hope spots here and there. Silas tries working Sugar’s arm, while Sugar focuses his attacks on Silas’s leg. They slug it out towards the end, with Sugar gaining the upper hand through most of it. Sugar even hits Silas with the running knee he beat Chris Hero with at one point, but Silas kicks out of that. Silas goes for the corner headstand, but stands back down to trash talk some fan in the crowd instead of going for the moonsault, and that costs him the match. Sugar takes the opportunity after that to hit another running knee straight to Silas’s face for the 1, 2 and 3.

That wasn’t a bad match, but it wasn’t anything special either. I enjoyed it just fine. (Side note: I really love the referee for SSW.)

Match Rating: **1/2
