Biff Busick & Drew Gulak vs. Brutal Burgers (Bob Evans & Cheeseburger) from Beyond Wrestling Tournament for Tomorrow 3:16

Post by Kevin Ford

Cheeseburger does an admirable job holding his own against Gulak in the opening exchange. When Busick tags in, Evans gives Cheeseburger some advice. Busick smirks when Cheeseburger is able to take him down with an armdrag. Cheeseburger tries whipping him out of a handshake. Although Busick resists, Cheeseburger is able to mule kick him from the apron. He lands a high crossbody for a one count. Gulak and Evans’ chain wrestling exchange results in a stalemate ending with Evans kicking his way out of a wristlock. Gulak brings him back down in a Kimura lock which Evans uses the ropes to break. Gulak fights his way out of a sunset flip. Busick tags in. He uppercuts Evans, and with Gulak is able to work over Evans’ arm while keeping him away from tagging out to Cheeseburger. During this, Evans is able to drop Busick with a Black Tornado Slam and put him in a Fujiwara armbar. He then puts on a Rings of Saturn. He slams Busick, then slams Cheeseburger on top of Busick. Busick hastily lariats Cheeseburger then gives him an aggressive suplex for a two count. Gulak gives him a belly to back suplex for the same result. Cheeseburger tries a sunset flip, but Gulak rolls it back. Cheeseburger responds with a swinging neckbreaker. Cheeseburger kicks Gulak away. Evans comes in with a series of punches to Busick. He catches Busick coming off the ropes with a sidewalk slam. Evans carries him out into a backpack stunner. He reapplies a Fujiwara armbar. He doesn’t hold on, but instead tags in Cheeseburger. Evans launches Cheeseburger onto Busick. Busick catches Cheeseburger, tosses him into Evans arms. Evans uses Cheeseburger as a battering ram on Busick and Gulak. He drives Cheeseburger back first into Busick, then uses him for an assisted backpack stunner. They look for that on Gulak as well, but Gulak pulls off Cheeseburger. He puts Cheeseburger in the Gu-Lock while Busick holds back Evans. Cheeseburger taps out at 17:53.

Most people would dismiss a match with Brutal Burgers, but I enjoyed seeing Evans hang with Gulak in chain wrestling and Cheeseburger’s ability to go toe to toe with both Gulak and Busick. I don’t know if we needed 18 minutes of that, but regardless this was a nice surprise. ***
