Team UK (Damian Dunne, Mark Andrews & Pete Dunne) vs. The Bloc Party (Mr. Azerbaijan, Prakash Sabar & The Proletariat Boar Of Moldova) from Chikara King of Trios 2014

Recap from TJ Hawke:

Story of the Match: Mark Andrews is incredibly exciting to watch. I’ve only seen Pete Dunne a couple times, but he seems pretty solid. I’ve never seen Damian Dunne before.

Waltman was freaking out on commentary because Sabar was basically aping all of his moveset. Pete Dunne was worked over for a while and then the teams did a big back and forth sequence. Sabar eventually ate a doubleteam spot from the Dunne brothers and a beautiful SSP from Andrews to give Team UK the victory.

Analysis: While this match does not compare to any of the classics from past King of Trios tournaments, it was an effective opener and a breath of fresh air after Chikara’s very uninspired weekend in Canada. The match probably could have benefitted from featuring Andrews a bit more though.

Match Rating: ***
