Arkangel vs. Black Panther from CMLL 2014

Thoughts from Sam DiMascio:

Lightning matches can be pretty fun and such was the case here. Arkangel is a crotchety  old man. Black Panther being the son of Blue Panther is bound to have some things going for him. Dug the shoulder tackle dive from Panther since he’s sorta hoss like. Always a bit shocking to see how agile he can move around for someone who is built like a tank. Arkangel’s dive to the outside tops it about a minute later and it is completely insane for a 48 year old. Some stuff seemed kind of awkward as well in the match but I’ll give Panther some slack for being a rookie. Finish completely out of nowhere fell flat and probably holds this back from being anything outside of one of the pretty fun lightning matches I’ve seen and completely forgotten about.

Recap from TJ Hawke:

Lucha! I know nothing about wrestling in Mexico. I’ve seen less than a five matches from the country. That is why Sam is above me to bring some lucha experience to this post. Black Panther hit a tope suicida. Panther was in control back in the ring. Arkangel hit a beautiful diving crossbody to the floor. Back in the ring, Panther went for a Frankensteiner, but Arkangel reversed it into a powerbomb. Arkangel got a nearfall with a discus lariat. A women on the floor tripped up Panther, and Arkangel then got a nearfall with a Liger Bomb. Panther caught Arkangel out of nowhere with an armbar, and Arkangel submitted.

This match did not make a big impression on me to be perfectly honest. The crossbody to the floor was the only thing that stood out to me.
