Matt Cage vs. Darius Carter from Beyond Wrestling 2014
Post by Chris Wilson:
This match took place on the second day of studio tapings at the New England Pro Wrestling Academy during the weekend of Feeding Frenzy.
The match starts with both men trying to gain the upperhand through side headlocks and front facelocks. Darius Carter tries to take control with a headbutt to the mid section, but Matt Cage comes back with a calf kick sending Carter to the outside. Cage dropkicks Carter through the ropes and follows up with a dive through the bottom and middle ropes. Cage rolls him back into the ring and hits a sliding clothesline for a 1 count. Carter is back on the outside and this time he avoids a dropkick through the ropes and slams Cage into a pillar. Back in the ring, Carter hits a low clothesline for a 1 count. Carter stomps on Cage’s head and gets a 2 count. Cage avoids a possible superplex attempt and hits a sunset flip powerbomb off the top and is able to get a 2 count following a knee between the shoulder blades and a swinging fisherman’s neckbreaker. Cage hits a huge punch and a jumping neckbreaker for another 2 count. Cage follows two big knees with a crossbody off the top for a nearfall. Carter is able to hit a Yakuza kick in the corner and he spikes Cage on his head with a piledriver for another nearfall. Both men trade forearms and European uppercuts, but both men go down following a roundhouse kick from Cage. Cage takes control by kicking Carter’s face into his knee followed by another punch to the face and a Money Clip for yet another nearfall. Carter shoves off a jumping knee attempt from Cage, hits a superkick to a kneeling Cage, and he followed it with a single knee facebuster for the win.
Fun match here between two guys who would really never cross paths unless it was at a Beyond Wrestling studio taping.
