Team BFF (Gran Akuma & Jigsaw) vs. Le Tabarnak de Team (Mathieu St-Jacques & Thomas Dubois) from ISW 2013

Post by TJ Hawke:

It is always interesting to go back and watch a match on tape that you saw live. I have fond memories of this opener for the ISW Burger King of the Ring II (a tournament to crown ISW tag team champions). Those memories were justified as this was a rock-solid opener featuring more lively action than you should necessarily expect from an ISW show. TDT won after catching Jigsaw with a double spinebuster. (***)

There were definitely some clunky moments here and there that hold the match down to a degree. I really want TDT work with a greater sense of urgency. They seem to have all the tools necessary to be this awesome tag team on the independents. Their matches are just missing something though that prevents them from being great. They need to toss some fools around and look like killers!

Jigsaw and Akuma really gelled as a team, and I’m disappointed that ISW never put them back together. Akuma has at least been working singles for them, but Jigsaw has not been back at all as far as I can tell.
