The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson) vs. Trent? & Bandido, Jr. & Adrenaline Express (EJ Risk & VSK) from FWE’s Openweight Grand Prix 2013

Recap from TJ Hawke:

I was at this show. When this match happened, I felt like it was the closest I would ever come to watching a Young Bucks match in Reseda. I’m really curious to see what it’s like on tape.

Maryse was on commentary and didn’t seem to know who the Young Bucks were. High comedy. The match was for Adrenaline Express’s FWE Tag team Championships. Much like all of us in the crowd, the commentators did not know if this was an elimination match or not.

The Express hit stereo tope con hellos. Trent? hit a tope con hello. Bandido hit a moonsault to the floor. The match settled down, as the Bucks worked over Bandido. It went on a for a longer time than I remembered. Bandido eventually escaped and tagged in Trent?. The match broke down. There were a lot of superkicks, and I saw myself give a standing ovation. Bandido wiped out Matt with a corkscrew dive where he landed bad on a guardrail. Trent? gave Nick a superplex to everyone on the floor. Trent? and VSK went at it in the ring. Trent? ate a superkick and a twisting Canadian Destroyer. More Bang for Your Buck: 1…2…3! New champs! Wait…

VSK schoolboyed Matt: 1…2…3! In the crowd, we legit had no idea it was an elimination match, and I was very distraught.

The Bucks held up the hands of Trent? and Bandido after the match, but then they superkicked them. The Young Bucks are the best and the main reason to attend FWE.

I don’t know if the crowd heat didn’t translate or just being there live was just too good of an experience to possibly live up to. Regardless, this was a fun match. I really appreciated that the Bucks basically worked the entire match. It was such a treat to watch them and made the whole show worth attending.

Match Rating: ***1/2
