JT Dunn vs. Anthony Stone from Beyond Wrestling 2013

Post by Chris Wilson:

This match took place at a studio taping at the CHIKARA Wrestle Factory in 2013. JT Dunn was coming off a fantastic showing, in a losing effort, against Johnny Gargano at Americanrana and Anthony Stone was coming off a fantastic showing as well, in a winning effort, against AR Fox at Americanrana.

Both men are at a stalemate following several holds and some missed strikes, but Anthony Stone hits a European Uppercut and a double stomp to the back of Dunn to get a 2 count and control of the match. Stone tries to capitalize by hitting a crossbody in the corner, but Dunn gets out of the way  and hits a baby Ace Crusher for a 2 count. Stone gets a 2 count following a Fireman’s Carry Slam after hitting a dropkick in the corner and a headscissors takedown. Stone runs off the ropes, but gets hit with a clothesline by Dunn for a 2 count. Stone counters a Dave Cole Bomb attempt with a heel kick followed by a German with a bridge for a 2 count. Dunn avoids a second German attempt by hitting a Blue Thunder backcracker for a 2 count. Dunn hits a slingshot facebuster for a nearfall. Dunn tries to Irish whip Stone, but Stone throws Dunn over and connects with a knee to the back for another nearfall. Both men go back and forth with O’Connor Rolls, but Stone is finally able to get the 3 count and the win.

A good match here that went back and forth, I only had one problem with this match. There was a botch in here, but this is wrestling and botches happen; My problem was with the lack of continuity. At Americanrana, Nicholas Kaye kidnapped Anthony Stone. Denver Colorado announced that Kaye was in the building for this taping so Stone should be on the watch, but nothing happened. You could even see Nicholas Kaye on camera during the match. I just wished that Nicholas Kaye did something like attack him after the match or something to continue their hatred for each other. Nicholas Kaye and Anthony Stone were going to have a match at Beyond’s next show, Point of No Return, so I just wished Kaye did something to build for that match.
