Biff Busick vs. Jonathan Gresham from Beyond Wrestling 2013

Recap from TJ Hawke:

They stayed on the mat early on, and neither man could get an advantage. After eight minutes or so, they gave up on that strategy and traded some strikes. Gresham avoided a half-nelson and then applied an ankle lock on the leg he briefly targeted earlier in the match. Biff tried to stand up out of it, but Gresham transitioned into a bridging German for a nearfall. Biff fired back with some chops and a big boot. Blockbluster: 1…2…NO! Gresham did a ridiculous sequence in order to kick Biff’s left arm. Biff hit a bridging German, but Gresham reversed it into a kimura on the now-injured arm. Biff had to tap.

I dug this quite a bit. Their matwork kept me engaged the whole time, and the lack of consistent strategy was done in a consistent/logical way. I would be very interested in a rematch between the two.

Match Rating: ***1/4
