Anthony Stone vs David Starr from Beyond Wrestling 2013
Post by Chris Wilson:
This was an All Killer studio taping at the old CZW Academy. This was David Starr’s Beyond Wrestling debut.
A lot of mat wrestling to start, but Anthony Stone gets the advantage by sending David Starr’s shoulder into the ring post and follows it up with a double stomp to Starr’s back for a 2 count. Stone hits a back body drop on Starr and kicks him on the way down for a 2 count. Stone rolls up Starr, but Starr kicks out and dropkicks Stone. After a stalemate, Stone hits a discuss clothesline. Stone connects with a double knee springboard, but Starr rolls out of the ring before Stone can make a cover. Stone rolls Starr back into the ring, but can only get a 2 count. Stone attempts to springboard again, but this time Starr catches him and hits a German suplex sending Stone’s head into the mat for a nearfall. Starr goes to the top rope, but Stone cuts him off and straddles him on the top rope. Stone hits a senton on Starr and follows up with a fireman’s carry spinebuster for the 3 count and the win.
A really good match here that showed the wrestling ability of both men. I liked how Starr rolled out of the ring after the double knees because Stone has won matches with that move. Shows that either Starr had Stone scouted or that he rolled out of the ring just out of instinct.
