Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe from TNA’s Impact Wrestling TV 2013

Recap from TJ Hawke:

Joe and Angle had quite the enjoyable rivalry from late 2006 until early 2008.  Apparently this match is happening because Joe was not there recently to back up Angle. The match happened in the UK, which means there’s a good chance the environment will make this match awesome.

Joe was in control until Angle hit a belly-to-belly suplex.  Angle was in control for a while after that. Commercial Break.

After the commercial, Joe managed to send Angle to the floor. Joe then hit an elbow suicida.  Back in the ring, Angle hit three German suplexes. Joe avoided a Drunk Slam. Joe then hit the STJoe. Angle came back with a missile dropkick and a Drunk Slam. Joe no-sold the Drunk Slam and went for the Coquina Clutch. Angle escaped and locked in the Drunk Lock.  Joe escaped, and both men went down after a double clothesline. Cue Garrett Bischoff and Wes Brisco, of Aces & Eights, running in and attacking the competitors. The match was presumably ruled a No Contest. Joe and Angle fought back. Garret and Wes were sent running back into the crowd.

This was a rather forgettable match. I’m not sure why so many people hyped it up as being more than ordinary. Find their old PPV matches instead of watching this.

Match Rating: **3/4
