Recap by Alex Torres: Ethan Page is accompanied by Seleziya Sparx. Commentary by Denver Colorado and Vic Travagliante. Facade was meant to be Fox’s opponent, but Facade suffered an injury. [Note from the editor: I just deleted an unnecessarily mean joke!]

Page exits the ring and mocks Fox. Page is cruel to Sparx (this would later turn out to be some form of long standing theater to eventually gain the Absolute title. I know how that sounds). Fox and Page lock up. Fox’s athleticism helps him get the better of Page. Fox hits a couple dropkicks, and then leaps over the top rope onto Page. Fox catches himself when Page moves out the way, and hits a kickflip moonsault.

Sparx grabs Fox’s ankle, allowing Page to hit a backbreaker for two. Page distracts the ref while Sparx attacks Fox. Page trips Fox and hits an elbow drop for two. Page hits a release suplex for two, but Fox rolls him up for two. Page fights out of a waistlock and Fox ducks a clothesline. Back brain kick. Fox hits a cutter and the two are down. Fox hits a flipping headbutt, and then a swanton bomb for two. Fox sets Page up for a 450, but Page rolls out of the way. A drop kick and then a DDT for two. Fox fights out of a urange and hits a Shiranui. He hits a meteora for one.

Page shoves Fox off the top rope and hits a cutter for two. Fox fights out of Page’s grasp and hits some knees. Page fights out of the lo mien rain and hits an enziguiri for two. Fox hits a cutter. Lo mein rain. Fox rolls him in the ring and hits a 450 for two. Fox goes back to the top and Sparx protects Page. Page hits a low blow while the ref helps Sparx out and Page hits the Spinning Dwayne for the victory.

A strong match between two strong competitors. It’s incredible to think how far Page has come from that questionable gimmick. Page, at the time, already looked like a rising star, and he and Sparx got the most out of the gimmick. Fox was already one of the most reliable players on the scene, and I’m glad Page got the opportunity to show how valuable he could be to AIW in the future.
