Adam Cole vs. Roderick Strong vs. Jay Lethal vs. Michael Elgin vs. Davey Richards vs. Mike Mondo from ROH 2012

Post by TJ Hawke:

The Survival of the Fittest gimmick is one of those ideas that worked really well the first time ROH did it, and they’ve just done it ever since out of tradition. Most of the later SOTF finals that I have seen have not seemed all that important and/or have not been put together in interesting ways. This was a bit of both.

Mondo looked like a complete geek with his nonchalant elimination (not that I care about Mondo, but why not try if you’re going to book him?). Cole and Roddy’s eliminations were both done in ways to make them each seem unimportant. Elgin was then booked to be this super strong machine that required a million kicks to be kept down. Davey and Jay proceeded to go back and forth for a long time until Lethal won with the Lethal Injection. If that all seems interesting for you, go for it. If you’re not sad on the inside though, save your twenty minutes for almost anything else. (*3/4)
