Kevin Steen vs. Brodie Lee vs. Jay Freddie vs. Slyck Wagner Brown from 2CW 2012

Post by TJ Hawke:

This match was for Freddie’s 2CW Championship. As best I can tell, this was the only time Kevin Steen and Brodie Lee were in a match together on the indies. (In fact, they have yet to cross paths in the WWE as of this moment – 8/16/2015.) Why 2CW could not just do a singles match with them in this spot (Brodie was on his way to the WWE) instead of this clusterfuck is beyond me though.

Regarding the actual match, it is merely okay. They don’t waste time, and all four guys are somewhat active throughout the match (they worked the match with no tags, thankfully). For the first 12-13 minutes, they’re all just brawling the whole time. Then they rush through the eliminations in the final two minutes, and all of them feel clunky as a result (with the final elimination of Brodie big-booting SWB in mid-air being botched on top of that). This match is not necessary viewing, but it was a nice moment for Brodie in one of his “home” promotions. This was his second-to-last match in 2CW, and he would actually leave the indies without every losing the belt. (**1/4)
