Brian Fury vs. Brandon Michael Thomas from Beyond Wrestling Off The Grid 2012

Post by Chris Wilson:

This match took place at the Off The Grid live event from Beyond Wrestling. This was back in 2012 when Brian Fury had his old look. This was before Fury had his injury so he was wearing traditional trunks.

Brian Fury jumps on the second rope, but BMT kicks his feet and sends Fury crashing to the mat. BMT starts to target the left knee of Fury with a chop block and by smashing his knee onto the apron. Fury is able to hit a spinebuster for a 2 count. BMT catches Fury with a dropkick to take control. Fury attempts a pop-up powerbomb, but BMT is able to reverse it with a hurricanrana over the top rope sending both men crashing to the floor. BMT runs at Fury, but Fury is able to hit a pop-up powerbomb onto the apron. BMT is able to counter out of a Boston Crab attempt, and he hits a handspring cutter for a 2 count. Fury hits an enziguri and a superkick followed by a German for a 2 count. Both men trade a series of roll ups, but Fury gets the 3 count and the win with an Oklahoma roll.

A really good match here that had Fury and BMT play both of their roles very well. There were points in the match where BMT was distracted by the crowd, but Fury did not try to take advantage while BMT was distracted. Fury wanted to win cleanly here and wanted to win it in the ring. When Fury hit the pop-up powerbomb onto the apron, he could have easily won by count out, but Fury wanted to win it in the ring. BMT did however capitalize when Fury was distracted. Fury took time to talk to the crowd, but BMT sent Fury into the ring post while he was distracted.
