Jonathan Gresham vs. Jonny Mangue from Beyond Wrestling’s Ring Leaders 2011

Recap from TJ Hawke:

This was about a year before Mangue adopted the “Jaka” gimmick. Mangue cut off Gresham early with a backbreaker. It took me three minutes to realize that Aaron Epic was the referee. Gresham was fighting back continuously, but Mangue kept cutting him right off. Gresham came back after he missed (by accident) a moonsault off the apron. They briefly went back and forth in the ring. Mangue slipped off the top on a splash and then hit a choke bomb for a nearfall. They traded a bunch of pinning combinations. Gresham eventually caught him with a crucifix pin for the victory.

Well, this was disappointing. It really showed how far Beyond Wrestling has come since this time. It would be hard to go back and watch more matches from before Fete/secret shows. Gresham and Mangue had decent chemistry. I wonder what kind of match they could put on today.

Match Rating: **1/4
