Daisuke Sekimoto vs. Chuck Taylor vs. Brandon Gatson from CZW’s Best of the Best 2011

Recap from TJ Hawke:

Sekimoto and Gatson in the same match. One of them is awesome. One of them is not. Ugh, why is Larry Dallas here? Oh right, he used to manage Chuck and Gargano in Evolve. I completely forgot about that. Don’t mind me. Just experiencing some serious Evolve 2010-2011 nostalgia.

I remember watching the iPPV replay at the time and thinking, “Man, the iPPV is really making this crowd seem dead.” Nope, the crowd is just dead. Chuck and Gatson were kind of working together. Gatson got some momentum going. Sekimoto then turned Gatson inside out with a lariat. He then Germaned both of his competitors and pinned Gatson: 1…2…3.

Brandon Gatson was eliminated.

Taylor was actually having some success against Sekimoto. SHENANIGANS. Sekimoto came back with a crossbody, a lariat, and then a bridging German: 1…2…3!

Daisuke Sekimoto advanced to the semifinals.

Larry Dallas got into the ring after match. Sekimoto gave him a German.

This match mostly only functioned as a means to put Sekimoto over strong going into the next round. That’s not the worst thing obviously, but it makes this match not all that exciting.

Match Rating: **1/2
