John Cena vs. Triple H vs. The Big Show vs. Randy Orton from WWE 2009

Post by TJ Hawke:

Just thinking about 2009 Raw kind of just instantly causes feelings of dread and boredom in me whenever it crosses my mind. I am sure it was not all bad of course, but so much of it seemed to revolve around Cena, Batista, Orton, and Triple H. Besides Batista vs. Cena (which did not happen in 2009), there are not many ways to make a combination of that talent interesting in any way. In a big surprise, adding The Big Show did not help matters!

The action is just very lifeless and obligatory for the first half of it. This match for the vacant WWE Championship (which took place halfway through Raw) did not feel like a big deal in any way, both in terms of presentation and how it was worked. The closing sequence was okay at least, as Show started to dominate only for him to drop the fall to Orton after taking the Pedigree, the FU, and the RKO. That did not make up for everything that happened (or didn’t happen to be more specific) beforehand. (*)
