Bryan Danielson vs. Claudio Castagnoli from ROH’s Northern Navigation 2008

Recap from TJ Hawke:

The crowd for ROH’s Canada debut was just so good. Dragon and Claudio took their time in this one, but everything they did got over big time. Claudio managed to get control after injuring Dragon’s back. He then went after it. The crowd greatly preferred Dragon to Claudio despite both men being faces at the time. Dragon eventually caught Claudio with a dropkick and then made a comeback. Claudio finally put a stop to the momentum with a giant swing. Dragon came back with a cross armbreaker. Dragon transitioned into Cattle Mutilation, but Claudio got to the ropes. Dragon avoided the Ricola Bomb and got a great nearfall on a sunset flip. Claudio went for a pop-up, but Dragon perfectly reversed it into a backslide: 1…2…3!

Claudio and Danielson have always make wrestling look easy, no matter what company they’ve been in. This wasn’t as action-packed as I expected, but it was incredibly entertaining. An easy recommendation for everyone to watch.
