Jeff Hardy vs. Chris Jericho from WWE 2008

Recap from TJ Hawke:

Coming off Jeff Hardy’s first real taste of the WWE main event picture (where Jeff clearly should have beaten Orton for the title), Jericho and Hardy were scheduled to be a part of the 2008 Wrestlemania Money in the Bank match. Jeff got popped for a Wellness Violation though. WWE needed to get the IC title off Hardy before he went away, and thus, we have a match.

Jericho sent Jeff into a table to cut him off. Jeff eventually came back after hitting Whisper in the Wind. Jericho avoided the Twist of Fate and hit a Lionsault for a nearfall. Jeff reversed the Walls into a small package for a nearfall. Twist of Fate. Jericho avoided the Swanton and hit a Codebreaker: 1…2…3

This WWE formula executed with not enough passion get above “average” territory. They displayed their good in-ring chemistry though, and I found the closing stretch enjoyable.

Match Rating: **3/4
