Bryan Danielson vs. Fergal Devitt from 2007

Post by TJ Hawke:

This was a match that was thought to be lost to the world, as many fans had sought it over the years but it seemed like the show would never be released. The match itself takes places in front a small crowd for a tournament in a promotion that no longer exists. However, it just happens to be the only match that Bryan Danielson and Fergal Devitt ever had together. That fact alone basically carries the match. So, if you are not interested in either man, there is no pressing need to watch this one.

It really is just athletic and talented wrestlers executing an indie style match at a slower pace for no particular reason and with no sense of urgency or importance. Don’t get me wrong, the match has a handful of strong sequences and moments, but these two could have produced so much more. I cannot really blame them, given the environment they were working in, for not putting together something special. As such, I cannot really blame anyone who is not interested in watching it. Bryan eventually won with a superplex. (**3/4)
