Claudio Castagnoli vs. Mike Quackenbush from Chikara’s Time Will Prove Everything 2007

Recap from TJ Hawke:

These men have tremendous chemistry. I believe the winner of this match gets a match with Chris Hero. Quack started the match by going after the legs of Claudio. After a bit of that, Quack went for a tope con hello, but Claudio caught him on the floor and immediately powerbombed Quack back into the ring. That was phenomenal. Claudio was in control after that. Quack seemed to be on the verge of coming back several times, but Claudio always managed to cut him off. Quack finally managed to hit a snap hurricanrana for a nearfall. Claudio came back with the Waterslide. He hit it again for a nearfall. Quack came back with a diving bulldog, a senton bomb, and a Superfly Splash: 1…2…NO! A palm strike from Quack accidentally caused a ref bump. The confusion gave Claudio an opening to hit a running uppercut, and he then caught Quack with a bridging backslide: 1…2…3!

As amazing as their chemistry is, I’m still waiting to see the defining Claudio/Quack match. What is the match where all of the elements come into place? (Obviously, this match was good and worth watching.)

Match Rating: ***1/2
