Sting vs. Jeff Jarrett from TNA’s Bound for Glory 2006

Recap from TJ Hawke:

Who will claim THE POWER of TNA??? Sting’s career is apparently on the line. Okay.

Kurt Angle was the special guest RINGSIDE ENFORCER. Jarrett was out-wrestling Sting early. That’s an odd sequence to do for a heel. Sting fought back. Angle prevented both guys from using chairs. Jarrett accidentally hit Angle with a chair. Jarrett hit Sting with a DDT on the floor and then worked Sting over. They did the double crossbody spot, and the referee made the count. Angle gave the ref an Angle Slam before he ended the match in a double countout. Sting hit the Scorpion Deathdrop for a nearfall. JJ hit The Stroke for a nearfall. Sting nearly murdered JJ with a tombstone (another nearfall). Jarrett got the figure four, but Sting reversed it. JJ then applied the ankle lock. Sting escaped and went to use his bat. Angle took it away. JJ hit him with the guitar, but Sting did his no-sell spot to a massive pop. Scorpion Deathlock! Jarrett tapped out.

This honestly wasn’t that bad. Since I was under the impression that it was particularly bad, I found this to be pleasantly surprising. I wouldn’t go so far to say that it was good, but it did not bother me in the slightest.

Match Rating: **1/2
