Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Naofumi Yamamoto from NJPW 2005

Recap from TJ Hawke:

Nakamura got control after a couple of minutes. He worked Yamamoto over for a bit. He got a nearfall with a snap powerslam. Yamamoto eventually fired back with some big kicks and a 619 of all things. Yamamoto applied a Boston Crab, but Nakamura made it to the ropes. Triangle from Nakamura! Yamamoto kicked Naka in the face to escape and then hit a backdrop driver: 1…2…NO! Nakamura avoided a second one twice in a row. Nakamura then snapped off a rolling cross armbreaker, and Yamamoto tapped out!

This was nothing special, but it was neat to watch. If you haven’t seen much Nakamura or Yoshi from this time period (like I haven’t!), I recommend checking this match out.

Match Rating: **3/4
