Shinsuke Nakamura & Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Katsuyori Shibata & Scott Norton from NJPW 2004

Recap from TJ Hawke:

Shibata and Nakamura look like such young boy geeks here! Tenzan and Norton are obviously way more over than Nakamura and Shibata as I believe they were the bigger stars at the time. It’s crazy how long Tenzan has been around. Shibata and Norton were in control for a bit. Tenzan came back with a lariat on Shibata. Tenzan and Shibata traded shots. Nakamura tagged in. Shibata avoided a moonsault and tagged out to Norton. Norton made a comeback. Norton reversed a Nakamura armbreaker attempt into a powerbomb. Nakamura then ate a Penalty Kick from Shibata. Powerbomb from Norton: 1…2…3

This came across as an inconsequential match quite frankly. There was no real story to get invested in as the teams just traded control until the final minute or so. The highlight was watching Norton move around in the ring. He was quite graceful for such a big guy. I need to see more of him.

Match Rating: **1/4
