Billy Kidman vs Shannon Moore from WWE’s Heat TV in 2003

Recap from Lee Goodfellow:

I was a huge Kidman fan back in WCW but didn’t catch much of his WWE stuff…so it’s weird for me seeing him with short hair. Slick grappling to start, Kidman gets the advantage but Moore gets a ropebreak. Next exchange sees Kidman headscissors raking Moore to the outside. Moore dodges a dive and rams Kidman into a crowd barrier. Back in the ring, Moore takes control. Kidman fights back, Shannon flies over him, ends up hitting a nice leg lariat to the back of the head. Moore stays in control with a basic submission that I can’t believe I don’t know the name of. Kidman powers out, wins an exchange with a dropkick. Kidman comeback continues with a forearm, a back body drop, a lariat an a low dropkick in the corner. Moore flips out of a Kidman moves and nails a neckbreaker for a two count. Another dodge filled exchange which ends in a Shannon Moore corkscrew senton! One, two, Kidman kicks out! Enzuiguiri from Kidman, who then drags Moore to the corner. Kidman goes up top for the shooting star but Moore intercepts, Kidman manages to nail a BK Bomb! One, two, three!

Winner: Kidman

Lee’s thoughts: Kidman changed his finisher in WWE?! My eight year old self would not have approved of this. Anyway, it was a fun little cruiserweight match, but the attempt to WWE-ify Kidman with the change in haircut, clothes and finisher upsets me.
