Mike Quackenbush vs. Quiet Storm vs. Amazing Red from Hardway Wrestling 2002

I write for my own blog at Tanner’s Wrassle Talk as well as co-host a podcast with Sam DiMascio talking about all the WRESTLING called the WasimCast, so definitely check those out!

This match, let me tell you, was exactly what you would expect from Junior Heavyweight stuff in 2002. The commentary team makes no sense at all, because at one point they were talking about some porn star for some angle and I DON’T KNOW. Quackenbush constantly tied up poor Red and Storm into submissions you don’t see many guys do today, some legit unique stuff. Red sold some stuff like death, including Storm’s crossface early on and he was just great all around.

I have never seen Storm outside of NOAH and he actually was good in this, granted not as good as Red or Quackenbush. Besides the quality of the footage, you can tell this was 2002 as Quackenbush is rocking the worse facial hair combo of all time, I mean it is BAD.

Oh right, the match, it was actually really enjoyable as they did some unique stuff that allowed all three of them to get their work in as opposed to, “I roll out, then you roll out, then you roll out” so it made for a very enjoyable contest. Red landed hard on the mat at one point after missing a Corkscrew Moonsault and it is a miracle that he is still wrestling like he is today. Match was won by Storm, who was the last guy I wanted to win, but still a fun match nonetheless.
