Chris Jericho vs. Kurt Angle from WWE 2000

Recap from TJ Hawke:

I had no idea that these two worked a world title match in 2000.

Angle was complaining about the last-minute nature of this match, but Jericho came storming to the ring. Jericho ran through Angle for a bit. Angle cut him off eventually and then worked him over. Jericho came back after connecting on an enzuigiri. There was a ref bump. Jericho hit a Lionsault. A second ref ran down for the nearfall. Jericho got the Walls, but Kane pulled the referee out. Angle came back with a low blow and an Olympic Slam: 1…2…3

Kane gave Jericho a chokeslam after the match.

This was okay. They seemed determined to pack in as much action as possible into this very condensed match, but it didn’t really get over. Between that and the clusterfuckery of the finish, neither wrestler came out looking all that impressive

Match Rating: **1/4
