Mankind vs. The Big Show from WWF 1999

Post by TJ Hawke:

This match was for Show’s WWF Heavyweight Championship. Triple H was locked in a cage that was suspended above the ring. Edge, Christian, Jeff Hardy, and Test were at ringside to ensure there would be no D-X interference.

This “match” was a convoluted clusterfuck to set up the Stephanie McMahon/Triple H power couple that will probably dominate WWE television in one form or another until one of them dies. In that sense, this match is historically significant! In another, much more depressing sense, this is a reminder of all the quality wrestling that has come at the expense of authority figure storylines in the WWF. It would have been great if Austin vs. Vince was the only time WWF/E ever did that. Skip this match.
