The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) vs. The Brain Busters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard) from WWF’s Summerslam 1989

Recap from TJ Hawke:

Bobby Heenan was with The Brain Busters. The Brain Busters were the WWF Tag Team Champions at the time, but the titles were not on the line.

The Hart Foundation completely dominated the first six minutes or so. The champs finally used a blind tag trick to cut off Hart. The match actually broke down immediately instead. The Hart Foundation managed to maintain control. Neidhart crashed into a turnbuckle, and the Brain Busters finally got the heat. It did not last long though. Bret made the hot tag. It was not as inspired as I had hoped. Neidhart and Anderson ended up on the floor. Bret assisted Neidhart with a slingshot shoulder tackle. The Brain cost the Foundation the match. Anderson then hit Hart with a diving axe handle: 1…2…3

This was a disappointment for sure. It felt pointless. The closing stretch was not especially well-executed, and the finish was awful. There were a few moments of decent action, but overall, I do not recommend this one.
